Affirmative may be justified, Take from one give to another, The goal is to be unified
Take my hand be my brother,The payment silenced the masses, Sanctified by oppresion
Unity took a backseat, Sliding further into regression, One, oh one, the only way is one
I feel angry I feel helpless, Want to change the world, I feel violent I feel alone
Dont try to change my mind , Society blind by color, Why hold down one to raise another
Discrimination now on both sides,Seeds of hate blossom further,The world is headed for mutiny
When all we want is unity,We may rise and fall, But in the end, We meet our fate together
One, oh one, the only way is one, I feel angry I feel helpless, Want to change the world
I feel violent I feel alone, Dont try to change my mind no
Creed started off as aband called naked toddler. They played the tallahassee Florida bar circut, covering songs like Red Hot Chili Peppers' " Suck My Kiss, and Pearl Jams " Black", with some originals in the mix. Later the band changed it's name to Creed and recorded an original single My Own Prison.
Creed is:
Scott Stapp-Lead vocals Scott Phillips- Drums Mark Tremonti- Guitar
The Bass Player, Brian Marshall, quit shortly after the release of With Arms wide Open as a single. For an article about the reason behind Marshalls exit visit Vh1.com/creed.
The Christianity Issue
"this is not about God...spiritual insinuations seem to shock our nation."
Is Creed a christian band. Many say yes, but the band and thousands of fans (myself included) say no. I can understand how hearing thier lyrics could at first lead someone to the conclusion of Creed being a christian
band. With some of the lyrics from songs such as My Own Prison ( I cry out to god seeking only his decision, Gabriel stands and confirms ive created my own prison) and Whos got my back (The covenant has
been broken by mankind), having definite religious references one could be led to believe what many swear is true.
But the truth is Creed is NOT a christian band. In an interview with Steven Chean which appeared in USA Weekend in August 2002 Stapp said, in response to being called a christian band, “ We cannot say
this enough. We are not a ‘Christian Band.’ We have no agenda to lead others to believe in our specific beliefs.” But some people still claim Creed to be a christian band. If you need more convincing though, Brian Marshall the former bassist for creed said, " Scott writes the lyrics and he had a very religious upbringing, but it doesn't mean we're religious. He uses it as a metaphor. He uses the symbolism, but that doesn't mean we're Christian rock. I think we're a rock band, a real rock band in the tradition of Judas Priest or Black Sabbath…..".
How can people keep saying they are a christian band when they come out and tell then they're not? I dont get it? People need to get it through thier heads, creed is not a christian band!

Creed in Concert!
If you haven’t caught a show in Creeds Weathered tour yet, you should. I went to the
show at the Tweeter center July 25th and they rocked. It was the first time I’d ever seenthem live and I loved it. They played Bullets, Freedom Fighter, Whos got my back, Onelast breath, My sacrafice, Stand here with me, Weathered, Hide and Dont stop dancingoff Weathered. Then there was Torn, My Own Prison, Whats This Life for, and One off of My Own Prison, Plus Say I, With Arms Wide Open, Higher, and What if from Human Clay.
Scotts voice sounds just like it does on the CD’s and Tremonti and Phillips rock!
Before performing Stand Here With Me, Scott said, “ You stand here with us now, so
now you live on in the words of a song, your a melody.” Any true Creed fan knows he
was speaking right from the song, to every single one of thier fans.
Opening for Creed was 12 Stones (Whom I’ve never heard of) and Jerry Cantrell,
(Also one I never heardof but could tell by the audiences reaction he was well known.
Near the end of his set (cantrells) a fan passed him a poster with something written on it and he placed it onstage, making sure the spotlight hit it. I found out laterit was the name of a band member who’d died recently.
At the end of the concert Phillips threw drumsticks to the audience. I think
Tremonti was passing out guitar picks but I couldnt tell (i was too far away), and Scott
was passing out peices of paper but I dont know what was on them ( again, too far away).
There were t-shirts, sweatshirts, posters and jewelry (including a necklace with
the crest on it) available. I got a t-shirt but didnt have enough money on me for the
necklace too, which i didnt see until after i got the shirt.
My only regret was that i didnt have a closer seat.
